Riverview Park is probably now one of our favorite parks to visit and play at in Des Moines, Iowa. We could have spent an entire day jumping, climbing, playing music, doing the scavenger hunt, walking, and more. We are super lucky to have this park, PLUS it is an all-inclusive park where adults and children of all abilities can play and enjoy it.

This park has rubber footing. There was no bathroom nearby, but they are not 100% finished with all the details. It may be coming soon!

Riverview Park’s theme is inspired by the Riverview Amusement Park that used to exist in this space from 1915 to 1978. It felt like we were at a small carnival with all the fun rides and activities!

The kids had great fun using their imaginations in this ticket booth.

The zipline was a favorite! On top was a rollercoaster to resemble a rollercoaster at the carnival.

There were a ton of options to make music!

I thought this was creative. They had ride-on animals under a large canopy to resemble a carousel at the carnival.

When we visited the park was not 100% done, but this amphitheater is such a great addition to the area for live music.

Where is the best place to park to access the playground? At McHenry and walk down?

You need to have bathrooms in this park. Even if they are pit toilets! Make a excellent park!

Since it’s an accessible playground, it really should have an accessible family bathroom with a adult-sized height-adjustable changing table. It just makes sense!

I agree I think we really do need to have some kind of a restroom there specially because it’s a playground for children
