Lauridsen Skatepark is truly any skateboarder’s dream. My children are not into skateboarding, but we had a to of fun watching others do tricks and skate through the park. We also saw several roller skaters and kids with scooters. Next time we are going to make sure we bring our helmets and scooters!
There is not a designated parking lot, but tons of street parking in the area. There is one round bout circle on the north end of the skatepark (pictured below). There is also a small parking lot near the Rotary Riverwalk Park south of the skatepark.
I love where Lauridsen Skatepark is located because it gives you options of what to do. You can take The Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge across the Des Moines River to the East Side of the river, bike on the Principal Riverwalk trail, and/or play on the Rotary Riverwalk Park. There were tons of people picnicking while we were in the area.
Make sure you check the rules before entering the skatepark!
