Ashby Park recently received an upgrade in playground equipment and we made a special visit to check it out. The kids loved all of the climbing opportunities and playing ninjas. Here is a closer look at all the fun!
There are two separate play areas. Once for little kids shown below.

There are tons of picnic tables, a shelter, and green space. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the morning or afternoon playing and splashing (in the Summer).
When we made our visit it was the tail end of winter so the splash pad was not open yet, but this is definitely a popular spot in Des Moines during the Summer months!
They also offer tennis courts so bring your racket and tennis ball for a fun game.
